Will the Real Glenn Beck, Please 'Tweet' Up?
Glenn Beck was quoted in a magazine article, Newsweek, as making a statement about Florida Republican Governor Charlie Christ in a Twitter "Tweet" earlier this week. The only problem is, Glenn did not have a Twitter account officially until today!
Glenn claims that there are some impersonators on Twitter who have been fake using his name, even one with the name/alias 'the real Glenn Beck'. Glenn said he has contacted the people to stop. This reminds me of the incident with his domain name being squatted at the address glenbeck.com (one 'n' instead of two as his name is supposed to be spelt) in which Glenn had to go through quite a measure to acquire his domain name back (and I actually visited it once by mistake, it wasn't a pretty site).
If you do a simple search on Twitter, you will find these 'fake' Glenn's who have been impersonating him from some time. Some have actually been quite successful with thousands of followers, even good enough to fool the news reporter who quoted him in the article. I guess Twitter is not a reliable source!
